Nacogdoches is located in the Piney Woods of Deep East Texas. Primary industries are agriculture (cattle, dairy products, poultry, grain and timber), manufacturing (feed and fertilizer, valves, business forms, transformers, bricks, motor homes, poultry processing and sealing components), education, and tourism.
Nacogdoches, with a population of approximately 30,000, is the home of Stephen F. Austin State University. Nacogdoches has a rich historical background, dating back to the establishment of Spanish missions in 1721-22. Attempts have been made to enhance the historical flavor of the area, resulting in the preservation of several old homes and landmarks.
